Re-entry permit — travel without losing your Thai visa

Leaving Thailand without a re-entry permit normally cancels your extension of stay. We prepare TM8 and file in advance so your visa is waiting when you return.

What a re-entry permit does

A re-entry permit keeps your current permission to stay valid while you travel abroad. It is separate from your visa and your extension, and it cannot extend the expiry date. Without it, a retirement, marriage or work extension usually ends the moment you leave.

What we handle

Single re-entry

For one trip abroad while keeping your extension.

Multiple re-entry

For frequent travellers until the stay expires.

Form TM8 prepared

Forms, photos and passport copies in order.

Filed in advance

No last-minute queues at the airport.

Linked to your extension

Planned together with your next visa extension.

Return reminders

90-day reporting restarted after you come back.

Single or multiple, based on your plans.

  3. 3. Prepare TM8

    Form, photo and passport copies.

  4. 4. File at Immigration

At your local office before departure.

  5. 5. Permit in passport

Stamp or sticker issued in your passport.

  6. 6. Return and report

    90-day cycle restarted on arrival.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I need a re-entry permit?

If you leave Thailand without one, your extension of stay or single-entry visa is normally cancelled, and you would have to start the visa process again.

Single or multiple re-entry?

A single re-entry permit covers one trip. A multiple re-entry permit covers any number of trips until your permission to stay expires. Official fees: THB 1,000 for single entry and THB 3,800 for multiple entry.

Where can I get one?

At your local immigration office, and at some international airports before departure. Getting it in advance avoids queues on the day you fly.

Does it extend my stay?

No. It only preserves your existing permission to stay; it cannot go beyond its expiry date.

Does my 90-day count reset?

Yes. When you return, the 90-day reporting count starts again from your arrival date.

How much does it cost?

Our service fee is quoted per case. The official permit fee is THB 1,000 (single) or THB 3,800 (multiple).
